Starbucks elected to install XP Drum Kits in their coffee roasting dust collection system based on our ATEX and NFPA compliance certifications for explosion protection. Additionally, our hydraulic drum lifts, capable of lifting and transporting up to 800 lbs per drum, simplified Starbucks’ operator interface and removal/transport of dust waste.

GE Appliances’ Kentucky plant was searching for a cost effective and simple NFPA compliant containment system. XP Drum Kits’ standard 55 gallon drum kit design integrated perfectly with their existing system eliminating the expensive system modifications and upfront installation costs, as well as the on-going operating and maintenance expenses associated with rotary valves.

This industry leading manufacturer of organic friction products (brake pads, etc) was collecting highly abrasive and combustible materials in their newly installed central dust collection system. The system required both explosion vents and isolation for the discharge hoppers. The abrasive materials used in their processes began compromising the system within weeks of the new installation, resulting in clogging of the hoppers.
Further, the abrasives overloaded the close tolerance rotary valves causing them to fail, resulting in broken chains and shaft keys and other system malfunctions leading to extended and expensive downtime.
